Лимерики-2
by
Сууле и Раэне
По-русски:
Саурон,
любопытный агностик,
Знал
загадку про кольца и гвоздик.
Вот
семнадцать колец
Он
собрал наконец -
Но куда
же засовывать гвоздик?
И
по-английски...
1. Istari
There was once a mage named Olorin
Who required a pipe every mornin’.
Of expensive pipe-weed
He was never in need
For he found tobacco too borin’.
There was a white mage in the
tower
Whose morals grew lower and lower.
To settle his problems
He meddled with goblins
And gravely annoyed the Green
Power.
The third of this magical crew
Was an innocent mage of brown hue.
He was doing his best
To avoid his great quest –
Of the War very little he knew.
It is said that the two of blue
color
Were also sent forth by the Valar,
But of what they have done
Very little is known
For they practiced the best part
of valor.
2.
“Three Rings for the Elven-kings...”
There was a Dark Lord in the Tower
Who created the One Ring of Power,
Then proceeded to hide
And then failed to find
This capricious One Ring of Power.
There was once the One Ring of
Mordor
Which controlled the Nine Rings of
the mortals
Plus the other ten Rings
Of Dwarf-lords and Elf-kings –
This makes twenty of them in the
total.
3. Monsters
There was the First Nazgul of
Mordor
Who excelled in the great siege of
Gondor,
But his magical Ring
Was the weightiest thing
In the grave of this Nazgul of
Mordor.
There was once a Balrog in Moria
Who considered himself a great
warrior,
But he lost all his airs
When he fell down the stairs –
He felt sorry, and sorry, and
sorrier.
There was once the Worm on the
hill
Who felt it was rather a thrill
To gather all gold
He could possibly hold
And lay on it perfectly still.
